She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schaffer and Mary Schaffer (Brekke); her husband Nick Merth; her daughters, Kathleen "Kathy" Wooden and Melinda Bennewitz; her brothers, Robert and Melvin "Mike"; her sister-in-law Charlotte Schaffer; and her pets, Little George and Toby.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Wendy Brown (Chuck) and Nick Helstern (Pamela); her great grandchildren, Cody (Alissa), Desirae, Tom (Malorie), Grace (Ryan) and Josh; her brother Larry Schaffer (Joanne); and her stepchildren, Terry Becker (Wanda), Gary Becker (Judy), Gale Zimbrick, Patricia Erb (John), Rochelle Lentz and Twyla Miller (Mitch). She is also survived by 5 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
