Gregory W. Schmidt Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gregory W. Schmidt of Potosi, Wisconsin, born in Iowa City, Iowa, who passed away on November 24, 2023 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schmidt and Patricia Schmidt (Hank); and his daughter Lauren Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Grutz of Potosi; his sons, Steven Schmidt (Sarah) of Dubuque, Adam Jobgen (Hannah) of Hazel Green and Matthew Jobgen of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Zoey, Reid, Chloe, Avery and Beau; his sisters, Lisa Davidson (Scott) of Hillard, OH, Kathleen (Jim) and Julie Winning (Rich) of Westerville, OH.; his stepmother Kathy Schmidt; and his mother-in-law Eileen Grutz. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to the Lauren Schmidt Scholarship Memorial in care of Dubuque Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.
