He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Hastings. He is survived by: his children, Tom Hastings Jr (Sharon), Maggie Corbin (Tim) of Tennessee and Ann Hahn (Tom) of Lowell, MI; his grandchildren, Molly Blatt of South Carolina and Hannah Blatt of South Carolina; his sister Karen Hastings; his close friend Dick Schmitt (Jean); and also Bruce McPherson (Joan).
