He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Hoffman and Florence Hoffman (O'Neill); his daughter Diane Hoffman Diston; his son-in-law Larry Verhage; and his great grandchild Huxley Vaughn.
He is survived by: his wife Iris; his children, Daniel Hoffman (Laura), Susan Hoffman Rousseau (David) and Julie Hoffman Verhage; his son-in-law Jon Diston (Cherryl); and his grandchildren, Amanda Wirsbinski (Nick), Ben Hoffman (Amber), Hannah Hensberg (Brett), Christopher Rousseau (Brooke), Bethany Mulder (Caleb), Rebecca Verhage, Melissa Vaughn (Aaron), Rachel Fennema (Gabe), Naomi Verhage, Tabitha Verhage, Jacob Verhage, Julia Verhage, Joshua Diston, Caleb Diston, Abigail Diston and Jon Diston. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
