He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian "Pete" Johnson and Inger Johnson (Nielsen); his wife Dorothy; and his siblings, Francis, Norman, Orville, Melvin, Alice, Edith and Alma.

He is survived by: his son Robert. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
