He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph and Marcella Zidek, Sr. (Hayes); his siblings, Mary, John and Johnette; and his great grandchild Joseph R..

He is survived by: his wife Jan of Portage; his children, Joseph R. Zidek (Peggy) and Julie A. Fritz (Gary); his grandchildren, Michael (Maddie), Dylan, Dana and Alyssa; his great grandchild Emmett; and his sister Dolores Matthiesen. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
