He was predeceased by: his parents, Josef Maurer and Therese Maurer (Rock); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Watzke and Edward Hofmann. He is survived by: his children, Joe Maurer (Dara), Warren Maurer (Jennifer), Columbus and Kathy Knapton (Scott); his grandchildren, Joe, Zoe Maurer, Paige, Meghan Maurer, Hailey, Briar, Molly Knapton, Neil, Wyatt Barhite and Audrey Martinovich (Nick Smith); his great grandchild Xavier Martinovich; and his brother-in-law Don Watzke. He is also survived by relatives and many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
