She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Mael and Helen Mael (Voight); her husband Dale Calkins; her sister Elaine; and her sisters-in-law, Elaine Mael (Richard) and Joyce Mael (Gerald).

She is survived by: her children, Julie Vires (Ron), Todd Calkins (Lonna) and Cory Calkins; her grandchildren, Benjamin Vires (Candace), Emma, Lauryn Calkins, Evelyn and Emmett Calkins; her great grandchildren, Payton, Madelynn, Landen, Kaelynn, Ashton, Liam, Brinleigh and Bennett; and her siblings, Richard, Gerald Mael and Jean Brown of Portage.
