He was predeceased by: his parents, August Schneiter and Lydia Schneiter (Holtz); his wife Dolores "Jean" Unferth; his siblings, Eugene Schneiter (Mary Ellen) and Joyce Anderson (Glenn); and his children, Glenn Howard Schneiter and Peggy Jean Lavold.

He is survived by: his son Gerald Schneiter (Mary Ann); his son-in-law Donald Steve Lavold; his grandsons, Jonathan Schneiter (Andrea), Matthew Lavold (Nicole), Adam Lavold (Ann) and Micheal Lavold (Allison); and his great grandchildren, Ashley, Lylah, Kennedy Schneiter, Drew, Mason, Gabe, Ian, Reid, Conner and Kyle Lavold.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Portage Presbyterian Church (120 W Pleasant St, Portage, WI 53901). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Portage Presbyterian Church or to the family.
