He is survived by: his wife Ruth Mell of Portage; his children, Douglas Mell (Sue Kittelson) of Eau Claire, Mary Ann Schneiter (Gerald) of Portage and Marcia Budde (Larry) of Portage; his grandchildren, Dione Schumann (Gino Reimann) of Portage, Jonathan Schneiter (Andrea) of Portage, Jacob Budde (Jena LaVigne) of North Freedom, David Mell of Eau Claire and Daniel Mell of Eau Claire; his great grandchildren, Coltan Myers of Portage, Ashley of Portage, Lylah of Portage and Kennedy Schneiter of Portage; his stepchildren, Faye Hart of Packwaukee, Judy Sornson (Ron) of Florida, Wayne Talley (Karen) of Baraboo, Phyllis Grossmann of Portage and Brenda Miller (Dennis) of Ripon; his sister-in-law Rose Schehr (Lyle Weiss); and his close friends, Ron and Sandy Genrick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews from Iowa, extended nieces and nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the VFW, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Columbia Healthcare Center or another charity of your choice.
