She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Getchel and Frieda Getchel (Krier); her husband Bob Schmidt; and her brothers, Donald and Glenn Getchel.

She is survived by: her children, Laurie Weber (Michael), Mary Saager (Larry) and John Schmidt (Jacki); her grandchildren, Sara Stoflet (Zach), Ryan Weber, Alex Saager, Kelsey Saager (Kenny Webb), Maggie Franklin (Andrew), Olivia Schmidt (Adam Schoenle) and Carter Schmidt; and her sister-in-law Jordyce Getchel.
