He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Schowalter and Ludmilla "Milla" Schowalter; his grandparents, Jacob and Barbara Schowalter; his son Paul; his siblings, Ruth Mehring (Ken) and Robert Schowalter (Ruth); and his siblings-in-law, Marvin and Mary Nash (Hill).
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Bette" Hill; his children, Steve Schowalter (Wendy), Mark Schowalter (Cathy) and Sally Savatski (Bob); his grandchildren, Tracy Braun (Justin), James Schowalter (Jennifer), Jacob Schowalter (Miranda), Mikayla Schowalter (Andrew Porter), Matthew Savatski and Ashley Sippel (Max); his brother Dan; his sister-in-law Carole Priske (Hill) of Green Lake; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Steven Schowalter, Cooper, Riley, Adeline Braun, Tyler, Madilyn Savatski, Howard and Molly Sippel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Port Washington Historical Society, the Ozaukee Food Alliance or Port Washington Food Pantry.
