He was predeceased by: his father Leo Alois Fechter Sr.; his wife Sara Fechter; his son Leo III; his sister Elizabeth Fechter; his mother-in-law Kay Ellis; and his brother-in-law Mark Van De Hey.

He is survived by: his mother Mary Jane Fechter; his daughters, Kate (Leonardo) and Lea (Ryan); his grandchildren, Waverleigh, Beverleigh, Landon and Baby Boy; his siblings, Anthony Fechter (Doris), MaryLou Dommer (Ken), Thomas Fechter, Margie Strack (Ken), William Fechter, Sandra Thill (Joseph), Gerald Fechter and Jean; his siblings-in-law, John Van De Hey and Mary Van De (Kevin); and his nephew Matthew Strack. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are most sincerely appreciated to the family.
