He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Schmit and Anastasia "Daisy" Schmit (Paulus); and his siblings, Rev. Frederick Schmit, Rosemary Krebs (Joseph), Dorothy Clark (Carl), Paul Schmit (Rose Marie) and Helen Horn (Lawrence).
He is survived by: his goddaughter Joyce Herkowski; and his pet Norman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Ozaukee County Humane Society.
