He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Purdy and Ina Purdy (Ellis); his former wife Rosanne Helmincak; and his sister Betty Purdy Rivers. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Purdy of The Town; his stepchildren, Jeff (Jessi), Todd and Lori Rhine; and his stepgrandchildren, Jane, Joshua, Jacob Rhine, Chad, Shaun Rhine, Krystal, Keri and Cory Shaheen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Lakes Area Christian Fellowship.
