He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Lentz and Lena Lentz (Leverence); his son Troy; his sister Geraldine; and his siblings-in-law, Diane, Jim, Bob and Perry.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Lentz (Oberle); his siblings, Bob Lentz and Janet Nelson; his siblings-in-law, Bill Oberle and Kathy Riley; his children, Connie Anderson (Darrell), Russell Lentz Jr. (Loriann), Richard Lentz (Kelly), Phillipp Lentz and Travis Lentz (Jess); his stepchildren, Debbie Rizzi, Dan Rizzi (Tami), Dennis Rizzi and Dawn Walczyk (John); his grandchildren, Ryan (Jenny), Melinda, Julia (Sam), Carese (Ben), Amanda (Jason), Malorri (Mitch), Stephanie (Jamison), Lauren (Austin), Alyssa (Dylan), Lexy (Brad) and Riley; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Liberty, Taylor, Levi, Brooklyn and Teagan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Russell's name to St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
