She is survived by: her husband Jim Weifenbach; her daughters, Lisa (Plover), Kristy (Muscat) and Sandra (Plover); her sons-in-law, Kevin and Chris; her siblings, Antis and Benita; and her grandchildren, Henry Schuttenbach, Jude Schuttenbach, Elise Bender and Lilly Bender.

Even as Alzheimer's disease chipped away at her memory, Maija's feisty spirit and sense of humor remained firmly intact.
