He was predeceased by: his parents, Abner Haney and Mae Haney (Uelmen); and his brother-in-law William Levenhagen. He is survived by: his siblings, Joyce Levenhagen and Dan Haney (Mike Diestler); his nephew Troy Levenhagen; his niece Lynn Swoverland (Adam); and his great-nephew Joseph Levenhagen (Joey). He is also survived by extended family and friends.

Due to Covid, masks are encouraged for those attending Jim's memorial service.
