He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Olson and Nelle Gerts (Gustafson); and his siblings, Verne, Verla and Jack.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Olson; his brother Martin; and his children, Ebba, Sandra, George, Terry, Stacy and Christie. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
