He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald F. Dimmer and Irene Dimmer (Elsik); his wife Bonnie M. Nelson; and his brother David Dimmer (Bonnie). He is survived by: his sisters, Tina Dimmer (Ronnie Nyles), Patricia Foti (Mickey) and Kathleen Hansen (Eric); and his stepmother Maria Dimmer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
