She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Hellman and Anna Hellman (Carlsen); her husband Jack Schmidt; and her brother Jack Hellman. She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Schumacher (Paul), Linnea Sward and Pamela Grisham (Tom); her grandchildren, Michelle Krueger (Ted), Karen Schumacher, Kelli Timm (Josh), Kristi Grisham (Oscar Rodriguez), Daniel Lahti, Christopher Lahti (Mary), Jeanna Rubjerg and Nichole Dahlquist; her great grandchildren, Ethan, Cameron, Easton, Everest, Jayden, Kaleb, Savannah, Maddison, Londynn, Phoenix, Alexyss, Dayton, Ryleigh and Viktorija; and her sister-in-law Teri Hellman. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
LaVerne enjoyed playing cards, taking trips to the casino, and traveling & singing with the RSVP Chorus.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St.Jude Children's hospital in her memory.
