He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Nehls and Ann Nehls (Randall); and his grandparents, Earl, Stell Randall, John and Magdelan Nehls.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Nehls; his sons, Joseph Nehls of Kenosha, WI and Matthew Nehls (Chelsea) of Prior Lake, MN; his grandsons, Henry Nehls of Prior Lake, MN and Oliver Nehls of Prior Lake, MN; and his sisters, Dell Nesgood (Mark) of Kenosha, WI and Sandy Jensen (Jeff) of LaCrescent, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to either the Kenosha Achievement Center or Kenosha Goodfellows would be appreciated.
