He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Burns and Florence Burns (Lingle); his former wife Irene Macik; his son Howard Burns; his brother Clinton; and his stepson Randy Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Spoor; his son Darrell Burns Jr. (Myra); his stepchildren, Julie Spangler (Brock) and Mark Smith (Sarah); and his daughter-in-law Tina Burns. He is also survived by his several grandchildren and his great grandchildren.
Memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association.
