He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Shinko and Lola Mae Shinko (Bright); his brother Chuck; his daughter Carol; and his niece Ashley.
He is survived by: his son Scott; his siblings, Tom (Ellen), Mary Doering (Ivan) and Sue Curtis (Mike); his nieces and nephews, Shawn, Shane, Adam, Niki, Mindy and Alison; his cousin Donna (Reece); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sydney, Jacob, Tyler, Lola, Kaya, Ethan, Logan and John; his grandchildren, Katie, Erick and Elizabeth; and his close friend Donna Achenbach.
