With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Cook of Platteville, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 31, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Austin and Janice Austin (Witzig); her spouse Jerry "Cookie" Cook; her children, Shelly (Bruce Lancaster) and Greg Cook; her grandson Austin Cook; and her siblings, Jim Austin and Elaine Welch.

She is survived by: her daughter Chris Kirschbaum (Todd); her grandchildren, Tracy Polasek (Steve), Danny Lancaster (Vicki), Shawn Lancaster, Robbie Lancaster (Nicole), Kevin Burbach (Deb), Andrea Reynolds (Jon), Kristen Cook and Corey Kirschbaum; and her sister-in-law Donna Austin. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory (1245 N Water St, Platteville, WI 53818). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

“Chris I'm so sorry about your dad, mom, and brother, your dad was so good to us kids when I lost my dad growing up. He would bring us gift baskets every Christmas and don't think I don't remember, I do and will never forget his Generosity.
