He was predeceased by: his father Day; his wife Judy Peterson; his siblings, Gloria Curtis (Winkler) and Jerry Ames; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Ames, Shirley Runde, Richard Dempsey, Joe Winkler Floyd Curtis and Randy Krohn.
He is survived by: his children, Todd Ames of Troutman, NC, Lisa Moore (J. T.) of Catoosa, OK, Cris Winkler of Cuba City, WI and Dan Ames (Mysol) of Verona, WI; his stepchildren, Rodney Peterson (Sherri) and Angela Weitzel (Ed); his grandchildren, Jess Wall (Chad), Nicole Rongholt (Andy), Brieanna Long, Gabriel Ames, MacKenzie Moore, Arica Schmidt (Rick), Arein Winkler (Paige), Danielle Ames Newman, Joshua Ames (Whitney), Bill Ames, April Castillo (Lauro), Dylan and Myleson Ames; his siblings, Janet Dempsey and Eugene Ames (Barb); and his caregiver Dubuque Dialysis. He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
