He was predeceased by: his parents, Orris Emler and Agnes Emler (Puckett); his son Donovan Gillespie; his granddaughter Angelina Rose Emler; and his siblings, Marvin and Judy Carlin.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Gillespie; his children, Darren Emler (Toni Richardson) and Darcy Vanderpool (Joshua); his grandchildren, Sydney Gillespie, Tristan Gillespie (Shae), Braden Helgeson, Lillian Emler, Brandon, Brianna, Brody Plowman, Tayler and Ashton Sorenson; his great grandchildren, Kinsley Mae and Kohen Gillespie; his siblings, William Emler (Mary) and Deb Duve; his sister-in-law Karen Emler; and his father-in-law Robert Gillespie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
