He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Wayne Shaw and Marjorie Mae Call Shaw; his brother Richard Wayne; his stepmother Katherine Shaw; and his father-in-law Garth Huffman.
He is survived by: his children, Justin and Brenna; his wife Valerie; his children, Kienan Shaw (Cheyenne), Caleb Shaw (Cassie) of Cedar Rapids, Karina Holthaus and Gaby Freire Steffan; his brother David Shaw (Barb) of Stillwater; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Shaw of Vinton, Julie Klinkowitz (Jerry) of Cedar Falls, Cyndi Sweet (Stan) of Cedar Falls, Katrina Huffman of Waterloo and Priscilla Blanchard (Mike) of Waverly; and his mother-in-law Shirley Huffman of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
