He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Schwochert and Bernice Masset Schwochert. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Weidensee-Gorman; his children, Mary Harris (John), John Schwochert (Valerie), Joseph Schwochert (Isabel), Ann Foltz (Mike), Peter Schwochert (Jody), Mike Schwochert (Christina) and Kay Underberg (Victor); and his sister Karen Streich. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
