He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Peterson and Olive Peterson (Meissner). He is survived by: his wife Paulette A. Kuehnhold; his children, Tammy Kundinger (Scott) of Verona, William Peterson (Lisa) of Marshfield and Mary Peterson of Marshfield; and his grandchildren, Bailey, Ashley, Bryson Kundinger and Brady Peterson.

Memorials may be designated in Lonnie's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
