It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James J Billek of Phillips, Wisconsin, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Joseph, Francis Billek, George and Anna Sophia Molnar; his parents, Joseph E. Billek and Anna Mae Billek Bates; his father-in-law Gordon L Kehler; and his brothers-in-law, John E. Kehler and Robert F Dehli.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his sisters, JoAnne Christensen (William), Dolores Kehler, Rose Dehli and Juliette Wegner; his nieces, Michelle Moore (Adam), Stephanie Ziegler (Christopher) and Alyssa Dehli; and his nephew Michael Dehli (Amanda). He is also survived by many grandnieces/nephews and extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, 6767 Forest Lawn Dr UNIT 303, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

“I didn't know Jim well, aside from talking at the annual NATO conference in Milwaukee. We spoke again this year, and sat near each other at the Brewers outing on July 25. He was hit in the arm by a foul ball early in the game. Jim shared a story about catching a foul ball at another game in the past. He clutched the ball through much of the night and appeared quite happy of the accomplishment, even if it happened in a painful manner. Here's a photo from the night. So sorry for your loss.”
