We bid farewell to Bernard Johnson in Phillips, Wisconsin, born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 27, 2024 at the age of 98. Bernard touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur John Johnson and Irene Cecelia McLaughlin; his wife Barbara; his son Venantius Johnson; and his siblings, Arthur Johnson, Joan Lueneburg, James Johnson and Louise.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Mary Ursula Johnson (James); his children, Terry Gleeson (Kath), Cecilia O'Brien (Joseph), Elizabeth Gallagher (Michael), Katherine Seibert (Andrew), Canisius Johnson and Marguerite Carstens (Christopher); his grandchildren, Marissa, Laya, Ernie (Harvey), Beth, Brody, Ethan (Gleeson), Barbara Curley (Matthew), Seamus O'Brien (Margaret), Bernadette Gribowskas (Michael), Norah, Liam, Anastasia, Mara Naomi, Lucy, Claudia (O'Brien), Benedict, Samuel, Rosemary, William, Irene, Jane (Gallagher), Anthony, Hazel, Vincent (Siebert), Dominic, Helen, James, Agnes, Ingrid, Julia, Lars and Azelie (Carstens); and also Sandra Harvey (Paul). He is also survived by his siblings, Sister Marion Johnson, RSM, Sister.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Philip's Catholic Church (42668 Church Rd, Soldiers Grove, WI 54655). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Barney's particular request is that donations be made to the Society of Divine Word, earmarked Diocese of Wewak Seminarians, Papua New Guinea.
