He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Chitko and Anna Noha (Klescewski Chitko); his stepfather George Noha; his siblings, Benjamin "Sonny" Chitko, Rosie Piszor (Louis), Stella Zambuto (Sam) and Elaine Kozik (Tom); and his siblings-in-law, Bernard and Jean Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Christine Thompson; his children, Jennifer Anderson (Tom) and Andrew Chitko (Priya); his grandchild Taylor Johnston (Jake); his sister Evelyn Kutta; and his siblings-in-law, Susan Laabs (Dennis), Mary Lachat, JoAnn Coleman (Glen), David Thompson (Linda), Jim Thompson (JoEllen) and John Thompson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of floral expressions a memorial has been established in his name.
