He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo J. Thelen and Eleanor Thelen; his brothers, John and Ray Thelen; and his son Joseph.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Bette Laufer; his daughters, Mary Lee McElhatton (John E.) and Jackie Musial (Tim Opall); his siblings, Audrey Ruplinger and Robert (Netty); and his sisters-in-law, Elaine Thelen and Barb Thelen. He is also survived by 4 grandsons and 2 great grandchildren.
