He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezequiel and Marianne; his sister Laura; his grandson Jasper Stanich; and his brother-in-law Larry Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Herzog; his children, Matthew, Rachel Benavides and Rebecca Lemanski; his grandson Oliver Stanich; his brother David; his nephew Eddy; his niece Isabella; his sisters, Ruthanne Hernandez (Edward) and Maria Elena Johnson; his stepmother Maria Garcia-Benavides; his uncle Bruce Greenlee; and his cousins, Richard and Charlie.
He proudly displays 10 challenge coins placed in his palm by grateful members who honored him for his contribution to the armed services.
