She was predeceased by: her parents, P. Werner Herbes and Katherine Herbes (Schwickert). She is survived by: her husband Rich; her children, Lynn (John Hough), Kim (Matt Barr) and Eric (Susan); and her grandsons, David Barr, Gunnar Goeden and Travis Goeden.

In lieu of gifts, the family asks that donations be made to Nature Conservatory, an organization that was close to Barbara's heart.
