He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Messenger and Ruth Messenger (Goldsmith); his brothers, Michael Messenger and Richard Messenger; his son Daniel Messenger Jr.; his granddaughter Sara Messenger (Peterson); and his nephew Jeff Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Bohaczek; his daughters, JoAnn TerMaat (Tom) of Peshtigo, Lynn DeHut (Jack Goetsch) of Oconto and Lisa Meeks (Larry) of Peshtigo; his grandchildren, Stephanie TerMaat of Suring, Christopher TerMaat of Peshtigo, Emily Dakins of Oconto, Daniel Messenger (DJ) of Hobart, Lawrence Meeks of Marinette and Garrett Goetsch of Oconto; his siblings, Jeanie Martin (Russell) of Peshtigo, Rita Seefeldt (Tom) of Coleman, Mary Pital (Jim) of Lena, Kathy Fiedorowicz (Joe) of Crivitz, Clyde Messenger of Oconto and John Messenger of Oconto Falls; and his sisters-in-law, Mimi Messenger of Lena and Cindy Messenger of Coleman. He is also survived by 9 Great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
