It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Shafer of Pembine, Wisconsin, born in Dunbar, Wisconsin, who passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father John Groleski; her husband Rodney Shafer; her son Richard Shafer; her grandson Jon Thomas Sederstrom; and her great grandchild Audrey Theuerkauf.

She is survived by: her children, John Shafer of Pembine, Jean Krenn of Pembine and Mary Thompson (Kenny) of Florida; her siblings, Bob Groleski (Toby) of Dunbar and Rosie Bousley (George) of Niagara, Wisc.; her sister-in-law Susan Potthier (Richard) of Green Bay, Wisc.; her grandchildren, Jody Krenn, Amy Theuerkauf (Brian), Lily Christoff, Minde Kimell (Alex) and Jessy Shafer; and her great grandchildren, Cody Hanson, Owen Kimell, Carl, Caleb and Jack Theuerkauf.

Memorials may be made to the Pembine Rescue Squad or to the Pembine Volunteer Fire Department in Shirley's memory.
