He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Russ and Helen Russ (Bizjak). He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hawley; his daughter Jessica Kuehn (Ryan); his sister Deborah Kitching (Joseph); and his nieces and nephews, Joey, Michael and Katie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his name to the Pembine-Dunbar-Beecher Rescue Squad, an organization important to the Russ Family.
