He was predeceased by: his parents, Marian Von Holzen and Erwin Von Holzen; his parents-in-law, Harry and Patricia Flood; and his nephew Daniel R. Phillips.

He is survived by: his wife Cindy Von Holzen; his sons, Richard (Darcey) and Robert Von Holzen (Nicole); his grandchildren, Bryce, Jena, Ethan and Liliana; and his siblings, Dennis Von Holzen (Julie) and Diane Phillips (Mike). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
