She was predeceased by: her parents, Hilda Thomsen (Buttenhoff) and Peter B. Thomsen; her son Gary Babich; her siblings, Lester Thomsen, Don Thomsen and Caroline Hansen; and her brother-in-law Ted Snyder.
She is survived by: her husband Larry E. Gates; her children, Laura, Robson, Leslie Anderson (Dan), Lorrne Gates (Trish) and Lisa Johnson (Dale); her grandchildren, Beth, Ethan, Ryan, Amanda, Austin, Athena, Rhiannon, Lawrence and Zoe; her siblings, Paul Thomsen (Judy), Walter Thomsen (Dolly) and Mary Snyder; and her brother-in-law Don Hansen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association.
