She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Achterberg and Margaret Achterberg (Portzen); her husband Willis Edwin Schmidt, Sr.; and her grandson Cody Schmidt. She is survived by: her children, Susanne Culbertson (Jim), Chris Schmidt, Willie Schmidt, Jr. (Nancy) and Joseph Schmidt; her grandson Tim Schmidt (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Anthony, Logan, Vanessa and Liam; her granddaughter Emily Schmidt (Austin); her sister JoAnn Russell; and her close friend David Boehmke. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
