With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Reinhard Otto Schmidt (Oshkosh, Wisconsin), who passed away on December 17, 2018 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his spouse Vera Jesch; his daughters, Anne Bang (Tim) and Susan Gullickson (Jim); his granddaughters, Katie Bang-Strand (Daryn), Caroline Bang and Catie Gullickson; and his great grandchild Sophie Strand.

He also conducted Alzheimers research during his career.
