He was predeceased by: his siblings, Eugene (Grace), Harold (Lavonne), Elroy (Opal), Maynard Fischer (Ella) and Nelda Swenson (Don); and his brother-in-law Allen Rintelmann (Carol).
He is survived by: his mother Elroy; his wife Marlene; his children, Paul Fischer (Sandie), Jenny Olson (Jon) and Heidi Thomas (Grant); his grandchildren, Jacob Akin, Karl Ryan Akin (Katie), Kyle Dillman (Ariel), Melanie, Samantha, Megan Fischer and Tyler Thomas; his great grandchildren, Oliver Akin and Kayden Dillman; and his brother-in-law Bruce Rintelmann (Hilde). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
