He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Pettit and Ruth Pettit (Farber); his son Todd Pettit; his grandson Michael Pettit; and his siblings, Ernie Pettit (Patricia), Lois Manthe (Otto) and Dorothy Pfaffenroth.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Pettit (Mortensen); his sons, Craig Pettit (Karen) and Keith Pettit (Lori); his stepsons, Ronable Wohlt (Nikki) and Barry Wohlt (Kristen); his grandchildren, Kristina, Ashley, Shauna and Jacob; his stepgrandsons, Travis and Tony; and his siblings, Carol Harnitz, Wally, Jim (Char), Tom and Dale Pettit (Peggy). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr, Oshkosh, WI 54904). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Lake View Memorial Park (2786 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh, WI 54901).
