He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hielsberg (Alma) and Alma Hielsberg; his wife Jean Hielsberg; his siblings, Arnold Hielsberg, Robert Hielsberg and Ruth Gerth; and his grandson Brent Hielsberg.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Hielsberg (Janice), Kurt Hielsberg (Wendy) and Lori Van Airsdale; his siblings, Elmer Hielsberg Jr. and Lucille Koch; his grandchildren, Devon, Sam, Sarah, Carson and Cole; and his great grandchildren, Jackson, Jayden and Henry.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made out to the Dementia Alzheimer's Association.
