He was predeceased by: his parents, Einar Nelson and Minnie Nelson (Olson); his wife Joan; his son Jon; his granddaughter Cassie Malueg; and his sister Geraldine Trooien.
He is survived by: his sons, Ken (Teresa), Dan and Don (Brenda); his grandchildren, Steven, Tanner (Cassie), Jayden, Tony, Devon, Tiffany Nelson, Ally Malueg, Kelsey, Bailey and Marshall Wick (Kayla); and his siblings-in-law, Earl Mork, Ozzie Trooien and Audrey Arndt (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
