He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Selma; his granddaughter Emeline Nelson; his sisters, Eleanor Larson (Louie), Evelyn Griffin (Bill), VernaMae Jorgenson (Dick) and Shirley Jorgenson (Glen); and his brother-in-law Ed Bierbauer.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Geraldine Zauhar (Mike), Susie Lee (Mark) and Richard Hofland; his grandchildren, Katie Kagel (Randolph), Anthony Nelson (Natalie), Samantha Bush (Alex), Benjamin, Allie, Daniel Nelson, Josephine, Christopher Zauhar and Logan Lee; his great grandchildren, Philomena, Sebastian and Callistus; and his siblings, Leon "Bud" Hofland (Carol) and Donna Bierbauer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
