He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer and Alice; his stepfather George Kressin; his grandson Evan Bresina; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Steinmetz, Charles Lewis and Dale Babbitt.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene of Bloomer; his children, Wendy Schmock (Dan) of Eau Claire, Byron Steinmetz (Christy) of Osceola, Nannette Hartman (DuWayne Myers) of Chippewa Falls, Melissa Bresina (Terry) of Holcombe and Chad Steinmetz (Nicole) of Eau Claire; his siblings, Wayne Steinmetz of Bloomer, Mavis Babbitt of Eau Claire and Jean Lewis of Eau Claire; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Schmock (Carling), Bradley Schmock (Top), Justin Kunkel-Smith (Shondra), Allison Smith, Nathan Steinmetz (Kayleigh), Jessica Steinmetz (Kevin), McGee Smith, Josh Hartman (Tanya), Rebeka Hartman, Seth Hartman (Heli), Aaron Bresina, Emilee Probst (Trent), Sydnie Steinmetz and Halle Steinmetz.
