He was predeceased by: his parents, Palmer Johnson and Hilda Johnson (Simonson); his sister-in-law Glenville, Sr.; and his brothers, Harold and Gaylord.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his children, Michael, Gregory Johnson (Connie) and Cathleen Wichser (Dan); his sister-in-law Betty Johnson; and his grandchildren, Jarod (Casey), Jordan, Jamie Wichser (Jenna), Kim Cabot (Jon), Matthew (Melyssa), Coreen, Derek, Anthony and Stephanie Johnson. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
